THE FAIREST CREATURES BY EGURIASE S. M. OKAKA

You came you dwelt among us
The bold the beautiful the ugly
The bad the good the wicked
Yet you followed the good path
5          That leads to life everlasting.

Yours was fairness to all you met
Yours was kindness to all you met
Your milk flows beyond limits
Lucky were those who encounter it.
10       Your milk flows beyond limits

Many drank thereof and were filled
And became happy
And smile with “Destiny”.
Yours was peace to all
15       Your tidings were thus.

A Mother of Nations
The biblical Sarah
Though you left us behind
We are consoled by your legacies
20       This lingers on.

We love you but
The good Lord loves you most
Rest is yours!
‘Mama Christiana Okwo’
25       Adieu the virtuous!
            Adieu the fairest creature!
Till we meet to path no more.

DEDICATED TO LATE MRS. CHRISTIAN OKWO WHO FLEW TO ZION CITY ON THE 28TH DAY OF FEBRUARY 2020

POETIC ANALYSIS On that fateful day when I heard of the demised of this creature of the Almighty One; I wept, in my tears I was remembering my encounter with her benevolence and concluded that here was a rear gem that was here with us but we never knew until she exited this plain to glory land. The above poetic piece eulogizes the life and times of Madam Christiana Okwo of blessed memory. She was one of the fairest human beings who lived amongst the over 7 billion human species in this world. She lived among us; peoples of different cultures, tribes and race, people of various characters, attitudes and behaviors; yet she was not influenced by the forces of negativity rather she followed the right path serving the good Lord till she bided goodbye to planet earth and humanity in general. Structurally, the poetic literature is made up of 5 verses broken into 25 lines in all. Let’s consider it line after line. You came you dwelt among us The bold the beautiful the ugly The bad the good the wicked Yet you followed the good path 5 That leads to everlasting life The poet shows her benevolent self to humanity. To as many that came her way she was indeed fair to them. 6 Yours was fairness to all you met Yours was kindness to all you met Yours milk flows beyond limits Lucky were they who encounter it. The above lines show how humane you were. Generations yet unborn will not forget you in a hurry. Hence, you are immortalized in this blog for the unborn generations to read and learn about your good works. 10 Your milk flows beyond limits Many drank thereof and were filled And became happy And smiled with ‘Destiny’. The above piece shows your generosity to all especially those who drank from your ‘Milk’ i.e. Generosity were filled and satisfied. You brought satisfaction to many by reason of your kind gestures and good will towards men and women. Many testified about your good works. Even men of God had many testimonies about your generosity. You were peaceful in all your ways and you always want others to live peacefully with one another; family and non-family members. That tells your uniqueness among other creatures. You were hard working and hate idleness and his brother called laziness. You served the Lord and holds through to his commandments. Today, we hold your good legacies as a moral lesson and a moral example for posterity to learn from; that it is possible to be generous and wish all men good will and above all, live peacefully with all creatures. Heaven has welcomed you so shall you ever be with the Almighty Creator. By Eguriase S. M. Okaka (Poet)
