Rehearsals are preparatory period for production. This period always come before production. The director is able to familiarize the cast with the mastering of the lines and the interpretation of the play and the characterization of their roles. This is where the various elements of the theater are brought together into a unified whole. Rehearsals are testing ground for production through which play is mime and acted scene after scene or Act after Act on daily basis where both the director and the cast can see the interpretation coming to life. Since we know that emphasis is laid on voice and speech level, emotional latitude, mime and movement (acting) and integration on set, costume, make-up, decor, music, dance, and lighting.
Rehearsals are inevitable to production and all production team must attend all rehearsals regularly and punctual. Rehearsals procedures would be broken into categories namely:
1.      Reading Rehearsal: This is where the cast learn to interprets the play and have a proper knowledge of the play which they are intending to act. It is usually the step in rehearsals.
2.      Blocking Rehearsals: This is where the director blocks stage movement in harmonious relationship with other elements on stage.
3.      Characterization Rehearsals: This is where the various characters practice their roles.
4.      Concentration Rehearsals: This is where the actors are taken through proper focusing on line interpretation, voice quality and emotional stability.
5.      Run-Though: This provides the opportunity for a play to run from the beginning to the last scene.
6.      Technical Rehearsals: This is also known as dress and tech rehearsals. It provides opportunity for us to see all the wealth of the production in terms of props, costumes, make-up, light effects etc. This is usually done before the performance night.

PERFORMANCE NIGHT
When a play is ready for performance, it means that the theatrical product is ready for consumption by the public at a given ticket price and holding at an indicated place and time. The performance night is a big night or day in the theatre. It is the occasion where every partaker in the production can see the result of his or her individual or collective input in the production.
It is a night where everyone can see the play as a failure or as a success through the reaction of the audience and performance of the actors.
