WHEN A CHRISTIAN MARRIES AN UNBELIEVER?

 

He who made them made them male and female even the animals were all created after the same manner. The reason is not farfetched; it is for procreation and for continuity of existence. That man can continue living on earth for so many years to come. God told Noah to bring all kinds of animals into the Ark before the flood came to destroy the then old world of Noah. He instructed Noah to take both species of animals: male and female, the simple reason is for procreation and continuity. Likewise, we also need to fulfill this role if Man wants to live long on this path. God has already said go ye into the world and multiply and replenished the earth. Genesis 1:27 Now this command can only be fulfilled when we get marriage not to an animal as some people do but to a fellow human being like him or herself. That is, a man to a woman, (verse visa) not man to man or woman to woman as the manner of some is.

It is so that marriage is very important to man and God and therefore God should be consulted and fully in voided in the process of choosing a wife or a man to marry if not married yet.  A man and a woman are met to come together as one flesh; this is made possible by marriage.

There are diver’s activities in the home which the man cannot handle that is why the woman should come in as a helpmate if he must accomplished these task and purpose for living; I think that the woman is indispensable to him. Just imagine how the world would have been like without a woman living besides the man. A mini-jungle, well your guess is as good as mine. From the beginning of creation God made the woman as a helper to the man to live happily together as man and wife.  It is not good for the man to live alone that is why the Maker created the woman out of the rib of the man as it is recorded in the bible book of Genesis 2:18, 21 and 22 ‘And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and

Closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

Why Should You Marry?

You should marry because you want to fulfill God’s ordinance on earth as it is recorded in Genesis 2: 17 ‘Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

Who Should You Marry?

As a child of God who knows the scriptures so well and know that God has instituted marriage for man and woman to procreate and bring up children after their kind to fill and replenished the earth, that child of God should marry a child of God and no other. That is, if he wish to please God his Maker. The world has two types of people (i.e.) those who follow or do the will of God and those who follow or do the will of Satan the devil. And these forces control the activities of people today.

Man is a tool for manipulation for these forces. The forces of good is controlled by the spirit of God that Is, that spirit that tells you to do good while the forces of evil is that spirit that tells you to do evil and convinces you that evil is good or makes evils looks like good telling you that it does not matter if it is or whatever.

As a child you needs to marry a child of like him or herself, at least, water cannot mix with oil, if it does then it will not stand the test of time. So when want to marry you should marry your type If you that marriage to stand the test of time. We all need a peaceful home and a peaceful marriage devoid of rancor.

When a Believer Marries an Unbeliever

That is confusion because water cannot mix with oil successfully. The unbeliever cannot be subject to your God because he or she does not know Him as the Almighty God and that will bring confusion and disagreement to your home. She serves a different god and that is where her loyalty is. Now she comes with the worship of her god and that makes it the worship of two God in the home.  There will be double loyalty and this will bring strive in the home. Nobody prays for that. Everybody needs a happy home.

You will be forced to worship her gods and that will bring the wrath of God on you and your home. Exodus 23:33 puts in: They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee. Think about this too: And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. II Corinthians 6: 15, 16

When a Child of God Marries a Child of God

It is peace and joy in their lives because the Prince of Peace (Jesus Christ) will always dwell in that home. The man and his wife believe in the same God and one Lord no diversity of beliefs that only can bring peace in the marriage or home. As both of them will always think and act in like manner. Why many marriages are either at the verge of collapse or breaking today is largely responsible to the fact that there are always different beliefs in the home, one may believe in the worship of one God why the other may believe in the worship of more than one God.

When both man and wife are Christians believing in the same God they will have like minds and like thinking, one hates, one love, one loyalty and one trust for God and for each other. This is why it is right for couples to have one belief. Everybody needs peace of mind in marriage but we can only get it if we marry rightly.    

Is Love the Basis For a child of God Marrying an Unbeliever?

It is both colossal and expensive! If you say love brings an unbeliever and a Christian together as husband and wife that may not be correct in so many always. You see, love cannot bring two people of opposite religion together as husband and wife rather it is lust that brought them thus. You may wonder why I have to say this, it is because lust is selfish and sees the outward quality of everything it gets hold of, but love is selfless and always sees the inward quality of everything even a person.

Two opposite things does not come together if they ever did it will not last for a long time. Oil and water cannot mix successfully that is how we cannot say that love brought them together but lust did, because it is always concerned with the outward qualities of a person. Either of them must lust over a quality that will attract them to each other and that often is the force that is responsible for their coming together.

Oneness is required in Marriage

Amos 3: 3 says and I quote thus: “Can two walk together, except they are agreed? You can see that two cannot walk together without agreement and now if there is agreement between two persons there is going to be unity or oneness as the case may be. That will also lead to love for each other and that love for each other will radiate and bring peace to the home. If this is so there will be peace in that home? Do you know that most people fear to go into marriage because the ones they have seen has been very troublesome and indescribable not what you will wish for anyone you know?

Now two shall come together and they both shall become one flesh. That is the togetherness which must exist in every marriage. Living as one in spite of our differences e.g. cultural background or creed is a prerequisite in marriage. We should look before leaping not leaping before we look: do not rush into marriage because you will regret it if you do. Do not marry anybody because he or she is beautiful or handsome you might regret it when that beauty goes away, for beauty is flower it fades away with time. Try not to marry for riches or for any physical qualities or for other materials seek.

Marrying anybody because of what he or she possesses is detrimental; when that those material qualities are no longer there you tend to stop whatever feelings you hitherto have which attracted you to him or her in the first instance and that will lead to hate for each other and that hate will give you a good reason to divorce that union. Marriage is a place for a man and a woman to come together as one flesh; that is why He who made them made He male and female and He also says in Genesis 2: 24 and I quote thus: Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Oneness in marriage also could be achieved in the home when both couple has one mind in dealing with issues or in taking a decision. Handling matters might cause problems in the home if both have opposite views on a matter, these views will bring different approach and may result into reproach if not handled carefully, then disunity will subtly creep in and disunity is never a good neighbor for anyone to entertain because it often brings evil thoughts against the other.

If we really desire peace in our home we should learn to put off our pride and follow peace with all men. Once again, the bible book of Romans 12: 18 put in and I quote thus: If it be possible, as much as lies in you, live peaceably with all men. God bless you.
